Prof. (Dr.) Hebatallah Adam holds Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting, Master of Science in Economics and Doctor of Philosophy degree in Economics from the Faculty of Business, Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt. She also holds a Master’s degree in Management Control and Audit from Institut d'Administration des Entreprises (IAE) de Paris, Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University, France, as well as a Maîtrise de Sciences de Gestion from Université de Poitiers, France. She has excellent academic record with graduating as the top student of her cohort.
Dr. Adam brings over two decades of experience in higher education across the Middle East, South Asia, and Africa, combining roles as a professor, research editor, academic leader, and institution builder. Her work integrates teaching, policy-relevant research, editorial leadership, and international collaboration across diverse development contexts.
Dr. Adam’s academic and research interests lie at the intersection of International Development Economics and Global South studies. Her work focuses on the political economy of development, green and sustainable development transitions, international trade, and structural transformation in emerging and developing economies, with particular emphasis on Africa and the Global South. She is also engaged in research on development policy, inequality, and inclusive growth, integrating interdisciplinary and policy-oriented approaches to advance equitable and sustainable development pathways.
