ACCA Applied Skills Overview

The Skill Module of ACCA qualification covers the LW, PM, TX, FR, AA, FM papers and after successful completion one may proceed to the professional level of ACCA Qualification. The Skill module class duration is six months.

Minimum Entry Requirements

To register for ACCA Courses starting at Skills level, you must be:

  • A registered ACCA Qualification student, OR
  • Have completed FAB, FMA and FFA exams of FIA qualification, OR
  • Exempted from ACCA Knowledge level papers based on your previous qualification (to know more about ACCA exemptions policy contact us or visit www.accaglobal.com)

Course Contents

ACCA Applied Skills level comprises of 6 papers:

  • LW – Business and Corporate Law
  • PM – Performance Management
  • TX – Taxation
  • FR – Financial Reporting
  • AA – Audit and Assurance
  • FM – Financial Management

Exams & Awards

All the papers are computer based exams known as session CBE’s and can be taken only in March, June, September and December as per the announced dates of ACCA except for LW which can be given anytime.

  • Students get an Advanced Diploma in Accounting and Business on completion of this level and completion of online Ethics and Professional Skills module.
  • A BSc in Applied Accounting degree from Oxford Brookes University is also awarded to students who can submit a research report after completion of this level.

Schedule & Study Load

  • Duration: ACCA Skills level may be completed within 1 to 1.5 year time depending upon the competence and commitment of student.
  • Days: Mon–Fri
  • Timings: 9:30 AM – 01:30 PM / 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM
  • Study Hours: 40 – 50 hours per paper

Examination

  • Computer based exams (CBE) for Corporate and Business Law (LW) can be taken any time.
  • Horizon University College is an approved CBE center for ACCA exams.
  • To book your CBE exam with Horizon University College, please contact Centre for Continuing Learning at least 48 hours before your intended exam date.
  • Session CBE for all the other exams of Skills level are held during first week of March, June, September and December every year.

Course Fee

  • AED 500 (yearly)
  • Skills: AED 1,800 per paper

Fees are subject to 5% VAT in line with Federal Decree-Law No. 8 of 2017.

Admission Requirements

  • 2 passport size photographs
  • Passport/Visa copy
  • Fee as specified in Fee Policy

Refund Policy

For course cancelled by Institution: 100% refund of course fee.

For course cancelled by student:

  • 25% refund of module fee before the commencement of course
  • No refund of course fee after the commencement of course

General Terms & Conditions

  • Course and exam dates are subject to change.
  • Conduct of classes is subject to minimum number of students enrolled.
  • Conduct of morning/evening batches is subject to minimum number of students enrolled. In case of cancellation of either of the batches, registered students would be shifted to available batch. Student should refer to fee refund policy, in case he/she is not willing to shift the batch.
  • Courses offered during holy month of Ramadan would have different timings. Student should contact administration/Centre for Continuing Learning for new timings.
