Introduction

At Horizon University College (HUC), the Media and Communication Department (MCD) manages all media activities across digital and offline platforms, ensuring clear, consistent, and impactful communication with all stakeholders. The department is committed to enhancing HUC’s reputation and strengthening brand awareness at local, regional, and international levels.

Leveraging AI-driven optimization, Search Engine Marketing (SEM), and other digital tools, MCD ensures the university’s communications are efficient, engaging, and data-informed.

MCD plays a pivotal role in conveying HUC’s message to internal and external audiences. The department operates across five core functions: Content Management, Design Management, Website, Portal and FAQ Management, SEO and SMO, and Online Campaign Management.

The department is responsible for maintaining a positive and credible image of HUC across all media channels, providing timely updates on university activities, managing media relations, and ensuring consistent use of the HUC brand identity online, offline, and on social media.

Facilities and Services Provided

The Media and Communication Department (MCD) provides comprehensive communication and media support to all departments of Horizon University College (HUC) for university-wide events, initiatives, and activities. Services include artwork design, content development, social media management, video production, and press coordination.

All service requests must be submitted through the official MCD requisition process at least one week prior to the planned event or activity. Requests are scheduled and prioritized in alignment with the university calendar and operational timelines.

MCD manages the creation, development, and dissemination of institutional content across multiple communication channels to enhance visibility, engagement, and brand positioning.

Key functions include:

  • Developing press releases for major university events and initiatives (local and international).
  • Creating social media content for ongoing internal and external activities.
  • Updating website content for News and Events sections.
  • Designing advertising content for newspapers, magazines, email campaigns, and newsletters.
  • Reviewing and editing university publications and webpage content.
  • Maintaining a structured content management calendar for academic and administrative updates.
  • Reviewing and supporting organizational policies and university copyright materials.
  • Producing and managing e-newsletter content for internal and external audiences.
  • Monitoring emerging media and communication trends to enhance outreach effectiveness.
