HUC Administration department

Introduction

The Administration, Registration and Examination Department at Horizon University College manages the core academic operations that support every student’s journey—from enrollment to progression and assessment. The department ensures all processes align with Horizon University College policies and the requirements of MOHESR (UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research).

Key responsibilities include academic planning and coordination, student registration services, exam scheduling and administration, and maintaining accurate student academic records. The department also supports faculty members by helping organize academic activities and ensuring smooth delivery of academic operations throughout each semester.

In addition, the department promotes a structured and supportive learning environment by coordinating with learning support services, monitoring student progress, and facilitating guidance and counseling related to academic progression. It also helps uphold academic and behavioral discipline in line with institutional regulations. Finally, the department develops and maintains the Institutional Academic Calendar, which guides academic and operational schedules across Horizon University College.

Goals

Goal 1: Plan and manage academic and academic support operations in full alignment with MOHESR policies, including coordination with the Centre for Continuing Learning.

Goal 2: Promote a safe, respectful, and non-discriminatory learning environment for all students.

Goal 3: Register students accurately and maintain secure, confidential student records in line with data protection standards.

Goal 4: Plan and deliver fair, well-structured examinations, and publish results accurately and on time.

Goal 5: Provide reliable academic and student-related information to relevant departments and university decision-makers to support planning and continuous improvement.

Services

This section is responsible for all the admission procedures, guiding the students, guardians and responding to their inquiries, distributing admission guide brochures, ensuring the applicants have met the admission requirements and bylaws, receiving the online applications, providing the students with the required information about the admission, announcing the acceptance of the new students, updating and archiving their documents electronically and applying the admission policy for all the HUC programs which corresponds with the decisions of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

The following services are provided to the students:

Students are issued with a HUC Identity card according to their admission status. For provisional students, the validity of the card is for one semester and for confirmed students, it is valid till the end of the program. Students need to carry their Identity cards at all times while being in the HUC Campus. Identity cards will be checked randomly

International Students

Functions

Administration, registration & examination department is the backbone of the university. Its main functions are:

Examination

Examination arrangements will be done by the examination department, examination schedule will be released prior to the start of the class based on the student strength.

Graduation Requirements

Bachelor of Business Administration / Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting degree is awarded to a student upon fulfilling the following requirements:

  • Students enrolled for a Full time Undergraduate Program must have completed the program within a maximum duration of 6 years and attempted not more than 180 credits. Those enrolled for a Part time Undergraduate program must have completed the program within a maximum duration of 7.5 years and attempted not more than 180 credits.
  • The successful completion of 120 credit hours
  • The number of credit hours as specified in the core, major and concentration
  • Achievement of CGPA not less than 2.00 in the following:
  • Overall 120 credits earned
  • In Major / Concentration Courses
  • Students must attain a minimum of “C” grade in every Capstone course
  • Students are required to fill the graduation application along with fee as applicable.
  • Recommended for graduation by Graduation Board
