About the Club

Horizon University College (HUC) Student Chapter of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) is a student organization which helps them to learn theory, practical applications in the engineering field including the computer science and information technology specialization. IEEE main purpose is to promote innovation in technology which will benefit the society in general.

Objectives of the Club

  1. To provide platform for students to enhance their technical skills in the areas of computer science and information technology
  2. To conduct workshop and technical awareness programs for students
  3. To encourage project activity among students
  4. To prepare students to present papers in the IEEE international conferences

Scope of the Club

  1. Technical skill-building: regular workshops, tutorials, and awareness sessions on in-demand CS/IT topics.
  2. Project-driven learning: team projects, mini-hackathons, and guided activities that strengthen problem-solving and innovation.
  3. Research & presentation readiness: support for writing, structuring, and presenting technical papers aligned with IEEE standards.
  4. Industry and academic connection: learning from guest speakers, mentors, and IEEE-led resources to understand global tech trends.
  5. Conference pathway: preparing students to participate in IEEE-related events and international conference opportunities.
  6. The chapter also builds on its experience hosting international academic activities, including the International Conference on Digitization (November 2019) with participants from over 20 nationalities.

Event conducted

IEEE - International Conference on Digitization November 2019 at Horizon University College, Sharjah wherein more than 100 participants from more than 20 nationalities including the UAE, UK, Taiwan, Singapore, Jordan, Malaysia, India, Philippines, and other GCC countries
